Announcements for Week 13 - Week of January 5th, 2025
Step Up to Support the Club You Love: Join the Executive Team
We currently have several critical vacancies, including Members at Large, Financial Officer, and Social Coordinator. These positions play a vital role in keeping our club running smoothly and ensuring that our events remain enjoyable for everyone. Our other executives have stepped up to support us during this time, and while we appreciate their efforts, we’re looking for dedicated individuals to help us fill these positions in a more sustainable way so that we can ensure a more balanced workload for everyone.
Joining the Executive Team as a volunteer is both a fantastic opportunity and a rewarding experience. to work alongside passionate individuals who share a love for dance, develop valuable skills in leadership, organization, and event planning, and make a positive contribution to our dance community. Plus, you get to enjoy all the benefits that come with volunteering for the club.
The wonderful thing about this opportunity is that all you really need is a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and a love for dance! Whether you're an experienced volunteer or trying out a new role for the first time, you’ll have lots of support and encouragement from the executive team.
That said, we need to be honest about the challenge we’re facing. With so many positions unfilled, organizing and running our usual calendar of events is becoming increasingly difficult. Each event requires time, energy, and planning, which our incredible volunteers have always provided. But moving forward, without these key roles filled, we may have to scale back on the events we offer. No one wants to see this happen but it is the reality of the situation.
We know how much our members value the joy of dance and the sense of community our club brings. By stepping into one of these roles, you can help ensure that we can continue to host the events that bring us together and keep our club thriving.
If you’re ready to make an impact, we’d love to hear from you! Please reach out to us at info@uofsbdc.ca to learn more about these roles and how you can help.
We can’t wait to welcome you to the team.
