Waltz Workshop

We will be hosting our first term Workshop on October 19th, 2024. The dance will be Waltz at all levels, with instruction by the Club's principal instructor, Michael Milette. It will be held at Trinity Orthodox Hall (919 20th St W)

Workshops are great to attend because some of the patterns covered are not included in the regular curriculum, proving that there is always something new and exciting to learn, no matter what level you are at!

The schedule is as follows:

  • Level 1:10:30 - 12:00
  • Level 2: 12:30 - 2:00
  • Level 3: 2:30 - 4:00

The cost will be $10 per session with payment at the door. Payment can be made with credit card, debit card or cash.

We strongly encourage members to bring a water bottle for the event.

October Monthly Dance

The October monthly dance is scheduled for Saturday, October 19th, 2024, coinciding with the workshop! Doors will open at 6:30 PM, and we’ll dance the night away from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Trinity Orthodox Hall

Our music coordinator is planning a wonderful playlist featuring plenty of waltz music, providing a perfect chance to practice all the new steps you picked up at the workshop. Plus, there will be a fantastic selection of other dance tunes for everyone to enjoy!

The price is $10 for members, $15 for non-members. Payment at the door can be made with credit card, debit card or cash. Please remember your member number and clean non-marking shoes.

We can’t wait to see you there!

Harvest Swing

Harvest Swing is the first semi-formal dance of the year. It is a non-dinner dance with snacks are provided part way through the evening. It is usually a bit more formal than our monthly dances, and a bit less formal than our dinner dances like Mistletoes. . The decorations will reflect the autumn harvest theme, and since Harvest Swing is close to Halloween this year, feel free to come in a costume if you'd like!

Harvest Swing is Saturday, October 26th, 2024. Member tickets are $30, and student members pay $25. Non-member tickets are $45.

Ticket sales are currently open. You should be receiving your membership card today that will contain your member number. If you do not receive one or if there is an error, please contact us at info@uofsbdc and we will do our best to make it right!

While tickets will be available for purchase at the door, please note that there will be an additional charge of $5. The door prices will be $35 for member tickets, $30 for student members, and $50 for non-members. Doors will open at 7:30 PM, and dancing will commence at 8:00 PM, continuing until midnight at TCU Place.

Volunteer Lead / Follow Program

Some of our classes are seeking leads and follows to help create a more balanced experience for everyone. This way, everyone can enjoy dancing as much as possible. If you're interested in lending a hand, please fill out the volunteer lead/follow form on our website and submit it to the club. We'll be sure to let you know which class you can assist with. It is a great way to help out the club while sneaking in a bit of extra practice!
