Please note that there will be no classes or practice sessions held on Sunday, October 13th and Monday, October 14th due to the holiday.

New Practice Session for Beginners/Beginners Plus

We are pleased to announce a new practice session specifically designed for Beginner and Beginner Plus dancers. This will take place on Wednesday evenings at the Nutana Legion from 7:45 PM to 8:45 PM. These sessions provide a valuable opportunity for our Beginner members to practice what they have learned in class. The music selection will consist solely of dance styles taught at the Beginner level, featuring songs chosen for their clear beats and accessibility.

The sessions will be hosted by Tanya D. Participation is on a drop-in basis, and no prior registration is required. If you have any questions regarding a move or technique, Tanya will be available and happy to assist you.

Waltz Workshop

We will be hosting our first term Workshop on October 19th, 2024. The dance will be Waltz at all levels, with instruction by the Club's principal instructor, Michael Milette. It will be held at Trinity Orthodox Hall (919 20th St W)

Workshops are great to attend because some of the patterns covered are not included in the regular curriculum, proving that there is always something new and exciting to learn, no matter what level you are at!

The schedule is as follows:

  • Level 1:10:30 - 12:00
  • Level 2: 12:30 - 2:00
  • Level 3: 2:30 - 4:00

The cost will be $10 per session with payment at the door. Payment can be made with credit card, debit card or cash.

We strongly encourage members to bring a water bottle for the event.

Harvest Swing

Harvest Swing is the first semi-formal dance of the year. It is a non-dinner dance with snacks are provided part way through the evening. It is usually a bit more formal than our monthly dances, and a bit less formal than our dinner dances like Mistletoes. Harvest Swing has decorations in theme to the name - harvest or fall time.

Harvest Swing is Saturday, October 26th, 2024. Member tickets are $30, and student members pay $25. Non-member tickets are $45.

Ticket sales are currently open. We sincerely apologize to all members who attempted to register earlier this week and encountered delays due to technical issues. It is up and running now so be sure to check it out.

While you await the arrival of your membership cards, which are on the way, please refer to the email containing your member number for use at workshops and events. If you need assistance locating this information, feel free to reach out to info@uofsbdc.com for support.

While tickets will be available for purchase at the door, please note that there will be an additional charge of $5. The door prices will be $35 for member tickets, $30 for student members, and $50 for non-members. Doors will open at 7:30 PM, and dancing will commence at 8:00 PM, continuing until midnight at TCU Place.
